We are thrilled to invite you to the highly anticipated NYSAR3 Annual Conference and Trade Show.  A three-day event dedicated to advancing the principles of Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle in the context of sustainable materials management. This dynamic conference will bring together a diverse group of professionals, educators, and experts from various fields to share their knowledge and insights on creating a more sustainable future for municipalities, states, and industries across the globe.  

The Trade Show at the Annual Conference showcases a dynamic range of industries driving the future of sustainable materials management. Registration: 

  • Individual links will be provided on our website for Members, Non-Members and Speakers to register, once registration opens in August.  
  • Exhibitor and Sponsors will receive a registration link via email to register.  
  • Please read carefully when selecting your ticket/s to make sure you have the right one.  
  • We appreciate each registrant completing the questionnaire & accompanying waivers found during the registration process.  The feedback will assist in improving our efforts at this year's and future conferences. 
  • Early Bird tickets are offered for a limited time.

Transportation 

Looking for a rideshare option to and from Cooperstown for the conference? Have an extra seat in your car? We were pleased to offer information on the Whova App Community Board (you need to register to have access to the Whova Community Board) where you can coordinate rideshares between conference attendees.  Rideshares lower our carbon footprint and expand access to the event, and maybe you will make a new friend!

Take the train to one of the two nearest Amtrak stations: 1 (800) 872-7245 

BY BUS

  • Trailways offers service to Cooperstown and nearby Oneonta (located 33-minutes south of Cooperstown).  Call 800-858-8555.
  • Oneonta Public Transit (OPT) provides service to Cooperstown. Call (607) 432-7100 for details.
  • The Otsego Express provides service to Cooperstown.  For questions about routes, route deviation, and other needs, please call  800-388-9853.

BY AUTOMOBILE

  • From the west (Syracuse): I-90 Thruway Exit 30 at Herkimer (Rt. 28).
  • From the east (Albany): I-90 Thruway Exit 29 at Canajoharie (Rts. 10, 20, and 80) or I-90 Thruway Exit 25A and take I-88 to Duanesburg (5 miles), then Rt. 20 west to Rt. 80 south.
  • From the south: I-88 & Rt. 28 (Binghamton/Oneonta/Cooperstown).
  • From the North: Routes 28, 80 South and County Route 31 South.

Low-waste Event

We are pleased to make our events as low-waste as possible. 

  • Single-stream recycling bins
  • Reused posters
  • Printed minimal posters, most on paper with recycled content when available
  • Reduced use of glossy paper
  • Food composting bins
  • Eco-conscious promo items
  • No plastic silverware
  • No plastic cups
  • Integration of the Whova App to enhance communications to all attendees.  A limited amount of paper agendas and those in large-print are available at the Registration Table.  
  • Reusable name badges (returned at the end of the conference)

Attendee participation to a Low-Waste Event: 

  • Bringing your own water bottle or coffee mug for fill-up
  • Use the zero-waste stations provided complimentary by the DEC at the event
  • Downloading the Whova (pronounced Whoo-va) App to eliminate the use of agendas and to communicate with others at the conference.  
  • Bringing your own carrying tote or bag to pickup promo items in the Exhibitor Hall.
  • Bringing your own washable cloth napkins to quickly wipe up spills, dry out your coffee mug to put back in your bag, or use when you go to dinner instead of paper napkins.  Concerned you'll forget them?  Pack some in your car, purse or reusable bag. 
  • When dining out, order a smaller meal/portions to reduce food waste, or bring your own reusable take-home container to the restaurant.  Ask if the restaurant is opposed to sharing meals.   
  • Taking pics with your phone of displays, business cards, brochures, and more.
