NYSAR3 Leadership Award
The New York State Association of Reduction, Reuse, Recycling Leadership Award (NYSAR3 Leadership Award) is an initiative designed to recognize and celebrate outstanding efforts in environmental sustainability within state agencies, organizations, communities, educational institutions, private & public sectors, individuals. The program honors individuals, businesses, and institutions that have demonstrated a strong commitment to reducing waste, reusing materials, and recycling in innovative and impactful ways. We also expand this to the sustainable materials management industry and organics.
Key objectives of the program include:
- Promoting Sustainability: Encouraging practices that minimize environmental footprints, conserve natural resources, and create a culture of sustainability.
- Recognizing Innovation: Highlighting innovative approaches in waste reduction, recycling technologies, reuse of materials and resource management that make a significant impact.
- Engaging Communities and Stakeholders: Inspiring collaboration between organizations, local governments, and communities to foster a collective effort toward sustainability.
- Setting Industry Standards: Providing exemplary models for others to follow, setting a benchmark for sustainable practices in various sectors.
The NYRecycles! Calendar Artwork Contest
The New York Recycles! Calendar Artwork Contest is an exciting opportunity for K-12 students to showcase their creativity and artistic talent while promoting environmental awareness. Students are invited to submit their original artwork, that will be judged with winning submissions featured in the NY Recycles! annual calendar – a special calendar that highlights the selected artwork and importance of sustainability.
Contest Overview:
- Eligibility: Open to all K-12 students in New York.
- Theme: Students are encouraged to create artwork that celebrates sustainability, reduction , reuse, recycling, and environmental conservation. The artwork should inspire others to think about how we can make an impact as individuals and live more sustainably.
- Prize: The winning artwork will be selected to appear in the NY Recycles! annual calendar, which will be distributed to all attendees at the Annual Conference & Trade Show, held each November. Winners are also invited to receive their framed artwork and speak about it at our Annual Meeting & Awards Luncheon, held during the conference.
- Exposure: The calendar featuring the winning artwork will be widely circulated, giving young artists a unique platform to have their work seen by a larger audience and celebrated at a prestigious event.
